Hunters Lane High school Band Director William Brooks has gone above and beyond to make sure his graduates are ready for college.
Brooks started in Detroit, playing with a high school band himself, when he decided early, that being a band director was his calling.
What sets him apart from other high school band directors, is that he is so dedicated and meticulous, that his band has won many competitions.
Even more importantly, he makes sure his students are at the top of their game when they become seniors, so that college band directors, select them for scholarships.
So far, 100 percent of his students have received music scholarships to such schools as Belmont, and Vanderbilt.
