NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Governor Bill Lee announced the launch of a new Public Service campaign, "Face it. Masks fight COVID-19."
"It is to remind Tennesseans that we’re fighters. And we’re in a fight with this COVID-19 pandemic. We're fighting to protect the health of citizens. We’re fighting to protect our economy. We’re fighting to protect things we enjoy and our way of life, things like football on a Saturday."
The video features Tennessee Vols 5-star recruit Trey Smith, who says, "I'm fighting for football on a Saturday."
Others featured in the campaign are a teacher who says she's fighting for her students, restaurant owners who are fighting for their small business and a father who is fighting to protect his family.
The governor encouraged the use of face masks saying, "We all know that we can do our individual part to help mitigate the spread of this virus."
