One person has been killed in a shooting in Cheatham County.
The incident happened around 8 a.m. Friday on Gibbs Street, located about a mile from the Brush Creek Recreation area.
Officials on the scene said a man, later identified as 24-year-old Greg Jonathan Sanders, walked up to a home and was shot by someone inside the residence.
Sanders was driven by private vehicle to Centennial Ashland City hospital, where he later died.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were unclear; however, family members confirmed Sanders owned the home and was at the house Friday morning to collect rent, which hadn't been paid in months.
Sanders was there with his cousin, who drove him to the hospital after the shooting.
So far, no one has been taken into custody. Investigators said residents in the area would not be evacuated.
Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have been called to the scene.
