Shaw Industries officials in Winchester announced that they will be closing the plant, leaving hundreds of people without a job.
Shaw Industries has had a carpet production plant in Franklin County since 1989.
A total of 228 people worked at the Winchester plant.
The Human Resources Director told The Tullahoma News the company hoped some workers would want to relocate to their facilities in North Georgia, including Dalton, Georiga.
