NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Wells Fargo donated $28,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank on Wednesday as part of its "Many Hearts. One Community." effort.

The donation will be used to provide 112,000 meals to Middle Tennessee families this holiday season.

"We are so grateful for this generous donation from Wells Fargo," said Nancy Keil, president and CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Tennessee. "This donation has come at a critical time as the need for our services is the highest it has ever been. This donation will help feed thousands of families this holiday season."

Wells Fargo's campaign has the goal to provide 82 million meals by the end of 2020 to families across the country through a partnership with Feeding America.

"Hunger is a year-round issue which is even more pronounced during the holidays. And this year, due to the pandemic, the need for food is unfortunately much greater than ever before," said Mike Bash, Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking leader in Tennessee. "Wells Fargo is deeply committed to the communities we serve and we are glad to present a check for a total of $28,000 so that Second Harvest of Middle Tennessee can provide meals to people in need. There are many hearts and one community, and we humbly join others in solidarity to help during these tough times."
