NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Safe Haven Family Shelter, a non-profit organization, provides temporary, yet safe, housing for homeless families. Not only does it give them a safe place to stay, it also makes sure children can continue their educations while there.
Most other shelters, will not take teenage boys from those families, concerned that there will be trouble, but Safe Haven believes separating families can be detrimental to the child.
Safe Haven goes above and beyond to make sure the children in those families, receive help with their education. Tutors, books and instruction for parents on how to help their own children with everything from learning to read to having the proper clothing and supplies for the schools they attend.
