MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Sasquatch statue in Mt. Juliet seems to be catching everyone's eye.
"I don't know that we really thought it would have [this] much of an impact," Colin Noel said.
Noel said his wife, Carmen, bought the statue at an antique store earlier this fall. The couple live on a five acre lot off Old Lebanon Dirt Road.
"We decided we needed to have one for the front here," Noel said laughing. "Then things escalated."
Since October, people have been dressing up the Sasquatch in outfits.
"We were like this is pretty awesome actually," Carmen Noel said.
Someone left flowers and a pumpkin around Halloween. On a rainy day, a passerby left a poncho. Earlier this month, someone placed a Christmas tree next to the Sasquatch and recently, someone stuck a solar-powered light in the ground to illuminate the figure at night.
"I don't know if there is one person or several who has been leaving stuff, but we're all about it. We think it's pretty funny that people want to join in," Colin said.
The Noels are talking about introducing a second Sasquatch into the mix.
"A baby Sasquatch and a daddy Sasquatch because then you have more options of things you can decorate," Colin joked.
Carmen said she is happy their spontaneous purchase is lifting people's spirits.
"It's nice that we can add a smile to someone's face or a laugh... that's kind of what the holidays are all about."
