HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A toddler has died following an accidental shooting at the Shackle Island Fire Department.
The Sumner County Sheriff's Office said the boy, who was later identified as John Robert Moore, climbed into a firefighter's vehicle, found a 9mm pistol and accidentally shot himself.

The sheriff's office said this is an active investigation. They will present their evidence to the District Attorney's Office next week.
The DA's office will then determine if they want to move forward with charges against the gun owner.
A vigil will be held tonight at the fire department. A gofundme has been created to help the family.
The boy's father also serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Mt. Juliet Fire Department.
