NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says authorities have found what they believe to be the remains of missing East Tennessee 15-month-old Evelyn Boswell.
Sullivan County Sheriff's detectives found the remains during a search of a property in Blountville belonging to a family member of the child's mother, Megan "Maggie" Boswell.
The remains will be sent for an autopsy and a positive identification.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert for the child on Feb. 18. Evelyn hadn't been seen for about a month before family members reported her as missing to police. One day later, the Amber Alert was issued.
Maggie Boswell and the child's grandmother, Angela Boswell, were both arrested in the case. Maggie was accused of giving false reports during the investigation. Angela was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property after being found in a vehicle of interest.
