NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Get ready for a good ol' fashioned soaker to end the week. Overnight tonight rain chances will ramp up. Friday's rain will come in waves with the first wave coming through during the morning commute and the second wave coming through late Friday into Saturday morning.

Rain will come to an end midday Saturday with dry skies returning by Sunday. Widespread 1"-2" of rain is expected between now and Saturday night.

We're still tracking another system that may impact Thanksgiving travel plans. A very energetic system looks to swing across the country Tuesday through Thursday of next week. It'll bring snow to the great lakes and rain down to the gulf coast.

We'll feel the impacts of this system late Tuesday into Wednesday morning. There's a lot of wind energy with this rain-maker so expect gusty winds out of the South between 15-25mph and a quick splash of rain with another 1/2"-1" of rain possible. An early look at Thanksgiving looks to be mostly cloudy with a 20% chance for rain late in the day.
