Legendary University of Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt has been honored at a memorial service open to the public in Knoxville.
Summitt was a Tennessee Treasure and a person beloved by many in Tennessee and around the country.
The public memorial service began at 6 p.m. and doors opened at 4:30 p.m. at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Fans began gathering at the arena as early as 3:30 p.m. to celebrate the Summitt's life and legacy.
Multiple people spoke at the service including, Good Morning America's Robin Roberts, Peyton Manning and UT women's basketball coach Holly Warlick.
There was also special music from Rocky Top to hymns sung by Con Hunley.
Thompson Boling can host more than 21,000 people, but there will be a viewing party on campus for any overflow of people.
