The incident was reported before 8 a.m. Wednesday, after a bomb sniffing dog hit on a suspicious package. A backpack had apparently been left unattended, which prompted the response.

The airport's bomb squad responded in an abundance of caution. About an hour later, an all-clear was given.

The incident caused significant delays for travelers headed to the airport, backing up traffic all the way to the interstate.

The off-ramps from Interstate 40 at the airport exit and Donleson Pike were briefly closed while the investigation continued.
