MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Deputies are searching for a missing 16-year-old from Rutherford County.
Lamar LJ Hinton Jr., 16, went missing on April 30. His parents believe the Stewarts Creek High School student ran away from home.
"I'm keeping hope and faith that he is ok," his father said.
Lamar Hinton Sr. remembers waking up around 5:15 a.m. and finding his son's room empty.
"That day turned into a couple days, and that turned into a week and that turned into a month. It starts, each day is a struggle and it gets tough every day," he said.
LJ's stepmother, Brandy, said she wants nothing more than to hug her son again.
"When I let my dog out about 5 o'clock I hope he's just sitting on the front porch. When we're driving down Murfreesboro kind of looking maybe we'll spot him or something like that. A lot of that is just very emotional," she said.
The parents do not suspect foul play. Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Andre’a Knox at 615-904-3035 or email at aknox@rcsotn.org.
