NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police arrived on the scene as people were evacuating the building following an incident at the theater at 100 Oaks in Nashville.
Witnesses on the scene said that there were many young people present, likely due to the highly discounted movies offered in celebration of National Cinema Day. Movie tickets were only $3.
At first, the chaos that erupted was speculated to be the result of a shooting, however, Metro Police said it was later discovered to be a false claim.
The panic started when a fight broke out near the lobby of the theater, but no shooting was involved.
The theater was evacuated as a precaution to ensure the safety of all customers and staff present at the time.
There have been no reports of serious injury as a result of the altercation.
