NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police arrested a 12-year-old seventh grade student Friday for allegedly making a false active shooter call.

Metro Nashville Police Department officers responded to a false threat of an active shooter at Two Rivers Middle School. According to police, the school went on lockdown as a precaution, but there was no active threat.

Police haven't specified the charge for the student, and MNPD did a walk-through of the school building to ensure safety for students and staff.

Students were safe inside of the building as police investigated the situation.
