COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a 24-year-old inmate a day after transferring to the Kenton County Detention Center.
The Kentucky Enquier reports the woman was moved from Campbell County's jail and booked into Kenton County on Friday afternoon.
She died Saturday morning. Her name has not been released by authorities.
Kenton County Police Chief Spike Jones says the woman was in a pod cell with other inmates, who told jail officers that something was wrong with her. She was taken to the hospital early Saturday morning.
Autopsy results are pending.
Jones says the woman's death didn't appear to be a suicide or from an assault.
