ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a man was shot early Wednesday morning outside his Antioch home.

The call came in around 5:30 a.m. on Cherokee Place, not far from Antioch Pike. Metro police said a man was walking to his truck when two people approached him.

The man told officers both people were wearing masks so he could not understand what they were saying, but when he saw one of them had a gun he tried to run away.

Police said the man was shot in the backside and his injuries are not life-threatening. The two people reportedly ran from the area toward Baker Station Road.

Several evidence markers were seen in the driveway of the home.
