NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a drunk driver killed two people and injured a five-year-old in a crash in Nashville.

Metro Nashville Police issued arrest warrants charging 23-year-old Jose Damaso-Hernandez with two counts of vehicular homicide by intoxication, vehicular assault, driving without a license and no proof of insurance in the Sunday morning head-on crash.

It happened around 12:40 a.m. on Bell Road near Brookview Estates Drive. Police say a 2016 Scion was traveling west on Bell Road and had just passed Brook View Estates Drive when an eastbound 2007 Ford pickup truck, driven by Damaso-Hernandez, crossed the center line and hit the Scion head-on.

Two people in the Scion, 21-year-old Dalton Williams and 25-year-old Samantha Peevyhouse, both of Centerville, were killed and a 5-year-old girl who was in the pickup truck in a child safety seat was injured. The seat was not secured.

Damaso-Hernandez was critically injured and remains hospitalized. He will be arrested once he's discharged. Officials said in a press release his blood alcohol content was measured at .14%.

Damaso-Hernandez’s passenger and owner of the pickup truck, 21-year-old Sadia Bonnilla-Gomez is also wanted on two counts of vehicular homicide and aggravated child abuse. She was treated and released. She reported that she knew Damaso-Hernandez had been drinking alcohol prior to the crash.
