Pilot, passenger killed in Franklin County plane crash

BELVIDERE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two men from Estill Springs, Tennessee were killed in a plane crash in Franklin County late Sunday night.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said the plane crashed around 10 p.m. in the Hickory Ridge area. The pilot and passenger of the plane, 78-year-old Carl Spray and 58-year-old Joseph Mackey, were killed in the crash. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
