1 killed, 2 others injured in Antioch shooting

One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in Antioch.

It happened Wednesday night at The Hickory Club Apartments on the 1600 block of Hickory Club Drive.

Witness statements have led detectives to believe that two men arrived at the apartment, pulled out their firearms, and attempted to rob the residents. Upon searching the apartment, police located more than two pounds of marijuana along with cash.

According to Metro Nashville Police, Michael Wayne Jefferson, 36, of Ames Drive, was shot and killed. His accused accomplice, Taleel Green, 19, of Sioux Terrace, was shot in the leg, transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is now recovering.

A resident of the apartment was also shot during the exchange. Toddrell Bell, 20, was critically wounded by a gunshot to the chest and was transported to StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna before officers arrived at the scene.

There were two other people in the apartment at the time of the shooting, who were not injured. One of the bullets was fired into an adjacent apartment, no one was injured there either.

The investigation is ongoing.
