NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The man who was fatally shot Wednesday evening in an apartment in Nashboro Village has been identified as Deroe Jones.
Officers from the Hermitage precinct were called to the scene on the 100 block of Village Green Drive shortly after 6 p.m. According to police, they found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. He died at the scene.
Officers also found marijuana, a white powder, and electronic scales in the apartment. They say a potential drug motive is under investigation.
Witnesses told police the gunfire occurred after two unidentified men knocked on the apartment door and entered. The two men reportedly fled the area in a green car, possibly a Chevrolet Camaro or a Dodge Charger.
