NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The name of the person killed in a boat collision Thursday night has been released.
Authorities say 42-year-old Nashvillian Charles Dye died at the scene of the crash on Percy Priest Lake.
Dye was driving a Nitro bass boat.
The passenger inside the boat was critically injured and remains at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The driver of the other boat was not injured in the collision.
According to TWRA, the two boats collided near the Hobson Pike Bridge at about 9:45p.m. Thursday. Investigators said both vessels were under power and moving at the time, but the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The TWRA is leading the investigation into the crash. Investigators impounded both boats involved for further analysis.
Hobson Pike was temporarily shut down in both directions at the bridge over the lake.
