NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Investigations are underway after a deadly stabbing Saturday night.
Officers got a call around 11:24 p.m. about a homeless man down in the roadway. It was 32-year-old Marquis D. Churchwell. He was stabbed outside 424 Church Street.
Police said a passerby with medical training was helping him when officials found him and took him to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.
On Monday afternoon, police arrested Cody Watson, 37, for the murder of Churchwell. on Rep. John Lewis Way between Commerce and Church Streets.
Watson was identified through a private company's surveillance video. He was found Monday afternoon on Rep. John Lewis Way at Broadway and taken into custody, where he was charged with criminal homicide.
