GOODSLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Dollar General announced today plans to bring a new DGX store to Nashville.
The store will be located at 206 Third Avenue South, and it is slated to be completed by late summer. It is one of ten new DGX stores planned for the company's 2019 fiscal year. This will be the second DGX in Nashville. The first opened in January 2017, and is located at West End and 20th Avenue.
DGX is Dollar General's smaller-box retail store, offering a product selection tailored to "vertical-living customers."
The DGX south of Broadway (SoBro) in Nashville will be approximately 4,400 total square feet. According to Dollar General, it will have numerous immediate-consumption items, such as soda, a coffee station, and grab-and-go sandwiches and salads. It will also provide an assortment of food offerings, pet supplies, candies, snacks, paper products, home cleaning supplies and health and beauty products, in addition to home décor, electronics and seasonal products.
"We are excited to expand the DGX store presence in Nashville to better serve customers of densely-populated settings," said Todd Vasos, CEO of Dollar General. "DGX is geared to meet the needs of our vertical-living shoppers, including many milennial consumers, and seeks to provide them with everyday low prices on the essentials they need in a convenient, easy-to-shop format."
Outside of the current and new Nashville stores, Dollar General operates three other DGX stores in Raliegh, North Carolina; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Cleveland, Ohio.
