The building boom continues in Nashville, with new apartments complexes continuing to pop-up all over the city. Each one wants to stand out. NewsChannel 5 took a behind-the-scenes tour of the Olmsted Nashville which will feature unique community space, open to the public.
Nestled near Bridgestone Arena in Nashville's SoBro neighborhood sits the Olmsted Nashville.
Brett Oliver is the Director of Development for CF Real Estate Services. He said they put the leasing center on the top floor, freeing up two-levels of the building for community space they're calling "The Collective."
"We're gonna have local artists and musicians come through on a regular basis, we can do fashion shows, art exhibits," he said.
Developers said creating a common space will create a neighborhood feel not just another housing block.
"One of the key features of 'The Collective' are the pipes. [There] are 7 concrete pipes, 9-foot in diameter. They weigh about 18,000 pounds," he said.
Visitors will be able to sit inside the pipes, do some work, write a song, or hang out with friends.
There will be 328 Studio, one, two, and three bedroom units. Apartments are already available to lease. The property should be complete by November with the collective space ready by December. For more information, click here.
