Officials were called to a bank in Henry County due to a suspicious package.
The incident was reported Wednesday morning at Security Bank on Highway 79.
Henry County sheriff’s officials said the package was left at the bank before it opened. No one was inside the building.
The box was deemed suspicious; however, after an investigation, authorities confirmed it was "an elaborate hoax."'
The box contained components used in explosive devices, but it was not an explosive device itself.
There are currently no suspects, but the sheriff's office has offered a $1,500 reward for information leading to an arrest. If you have information, call 731-642-1672 or the crime tip line at 731-642-0929.
The Jackson Police Department's bomb squad and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were assisted in clearing the package.
