Nick Leonardo wins vacant District 1 Metro Council seat without the need for runoff.

The first District includes the Bordeaux and Joelton areas.

Nashville attorney Lenardo won the three way battle to fill out the remaining three years of former Councilman Loinel Greene’s term with 56.9% of the vote.

William Mason came in second place with 37.3% and Rueben Dockery came in last with 2.8% of the vote.

"We still have to focus on the Joelton compression station. We still don't have sidewalks in a lot of places in District 1. We have a lot of issues from overlays and stopping gentrification - trying to curb the pre-market effects of gentrification, and we're kind of behind there. So I'm ready to take office, bring us up to speed and ensure that the folks in District 1 have a voice," said Leonardo.

Greene resigned in scandal back in January after he was indicted on charges of intimidating a domestic violence victim.

Leonardo lost the Council seat in a runoff race to Greene last year. Leonardo is also NewsChannel 5’s Legal Analyst.
