TDOT Repairs I-65 On-Ramp With Large Number of Wrecks

Posted

Work is just about finished to fix what has been a dangerous on-ramp near the Davidson-Williamson county line.

We first told you about the ramp onto I-65 south from Old Hickory Boulevard last month. At the time, we reported how there'd been a big jump in accidents at that since the interstate was repaved last fall. Drivers were losing control there, especially when it rained.

Repaving Causes Spike In Accidents

TDOT tried to figure out what was causing the problems. They tell us their survey teams didn't find any issues with drainage or ponding on the road.

But TDOT has tried to make it safer by realigning the bottom of the ramp and expanding the right shoulder. They still need to finish striping the road. TDOT says that should be done by the end of this week.
