NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Nashville man first exposed by NewsChannel 5 Investigates for taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from veterans and others is headed to prison for the next seven and a half years.

Back in 2007, 41-year-old Ricky Lee Coleman Jr. ran several companies, including Advancement Solutions and International Executive Services, that promised job training and job placement in bodyguard and counter-terrorism work.

But customers told NewsChannel 5 Investigates that they'd paid thousands of dollars and got neither jobs nor training. Coleman later admitted that some 2,600 people had paid him collectively more than $900,000 and that he spent most of the money on himself and recruiting new customers.

Back in May, he pleaded guilty to federal mail fraud, wire fraud and credit card fraud charges.

In addition to the seven year prison sentence he received on Monday, Coleman was also ordered to pay back the $900,000 he took from his victims.
