NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The New American Festival took place Thursday, celebrating the many immigrants that make up our country.
The festival sheds light on immigrant contributions to American art, food, film, music and more.
It's not unique to Nashville. Similar events have taken place in the last few weeks in several other cities across the country like Boston, Kansas City, and Houston.
But Nashville offered its own unique perspective on the movement and how immigrants have made Nashville special.
All proceeds from the event went to the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition -- a group that supports immigrants throughout the state.
