Website makes a white Christmas possible

Posted

While some Americans are used to not enjoying having snow on Christmas, many Americans will be experiencing a rare winter without any snow.

While many dream of having a white Christmas, record warmth for the eastern half of the United States has squashed those hopes for many. Just because a white Christmas might not happen for your community does not mean you cannot experience a virtual white Christmas.

Wells Fargo Bank has unveiled a "Holiday Magic" page that uses Google Maps to make your neighborhood look like a virtual winter wonderland. Using the Holiday Magic page, you can create a winter wonderland greeting card that can be shared via social media. Using Google Maps' street level view, your very neighborhood, even if it is one that is surrounded by palm trees, can look like the North Pole.

“As with our holiday spot, our goal for the new Holiday Magic experience is pretty simple: to lift people’s spirits,” says Wells Fargo Chief Marketing Officer Jamie Moldafsky. “We believe the commercial resonates strongly because its story reflects what the holidays are about — spreading goodwill and finding inspiration in the spirit of caring and giving.”
