Long before Omar Mateen opened fire inside an LGBT nightclub in Orlando, he worked as a security guard at a BP oil spill cleanup site.

At the time, the 29-year-old was contracted to the security company G4S.

Unearthed footage from a 2012 documentary, titled “The Big Fix,” shows the now-deceased mass murderer on the Florida panhandle, speaking to a woman who pulls up in a vehicle.

In the clip, Mateen talks cynically about people who make money off of disasters.

"No one gives a s*** here. Everybody's just, out to get paid,” he says in the clip. “They're like hoping for more oil to come out and more people to complain so they'll have jobs. They want more disaster to happen."

One commenter wrote on YouTube, “Wow, he sounds very articulate, looks professional, seems nice... God, why did he do it?”

G4S confirmed Wednesday that Mateen is the guard shown in the clip.

According to Fox News, "The Big Fix" chronicles the effects of the Deepwater Horizon spill that sent more than 200 million gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico in April 2010.

G4S spokeswoman Sarah Booth confirmed Mateen was stationed in Pensacola, Florida, for several months in 2010 to assist with the cleanup.

Later, Mateen went to work as a guard in a gated community in Florida — a job he still held during the time of his shooting rampage at Pulse nightclub on June 12, 2016 — an attack that killed 49 people and injured 53 others.
