Veterans Day: Where to get free meals

Veterans Day is Nov. 11 and many restaurants are offering free items to active duty military and veterans. Listed below are some of the chain eateries that are offering giveaways for Veterans Day 2015.

Note: Most restaurants require some proof of service, such as a military ID or uniform. Call ahead to make sure the deals listed are offered at your local location.

Applebee's - Free signature entree

Bob Evans - All-you-can-eat pancakes

California Pizza Kitchen - Free pizza, salad or pasta

Chili's - Free lunch combo or dinner meal from a select menu

Denny's - Free build-your-own Grand Slam breakfast

Golden Corral - Free dinner buffet from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Hooters - Free meal with a drink purchase

IHOP Restaurants - Free Red, White and Blue pancakes combo plate
