Atlanta Motor Speedway is offering an assist to those looking to flee Hurricane Irma's wrath.

Though the path for Irma still is being determined, forecasters project the storm could make landfall in Florida.

To help those looking to get out of the way in advance, Atlanta Motor Speedway announced it has opened its campgrounds free of charge for interested evacuees. The campgrounds opened Thursday.

The grounds are equipped to host thousands of campers, according to the Atlanta Motor Speedway website.
