NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Economists at Zillow are saying Nashvillians are looking at real estate in Knoxville, Memphis, and even Detroit.
Nashville came in the last place for people searching for local homes. This is surprising as many call the Music City one of the fastest-growing cities.
Economists say this peaked interest in moving could have come after the rapid price increases during the population boom.
“Americans tend to be mobile, regularly seeking out new homes in an effort to balance career opportunities, family needs, and the kinds of lifestyles available in our diverse country,” according to Jeff Tucker with Zillow.
More than 45% of home searches here in Middle Tennessee come from outside of the city. Most come from those looking to move from Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
