NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Nashville Fire Department and its community partners unveiled their newest addition, the AmbuBus on Monday.
The AmbuBus is a retrofitted school bus that was provided by Metro Nashville Public Schools.
It will now be used to respond to mass casualty incidents that would otherwise require a pool of regular ambulances to tend to. With the AmbuBus, numerous other ambulances can be used to assist those who are critically injured elsewhere throughout the city.
The AmbuBus can also be used for mass evacuations when severe weather, including flooding, occurs.
