MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Murfreesboro staple is celebrating a major milestone. The City Cafe turns 120-years-old in 2020.
To give a little history, the restaurant opened up shop back in 1900 by Henry and Dorsey Cantrell.
Originally, it was located at 11 South Side Public Square. Back then, they'd bottle milk upstairs, and in 1936, they hired waitresses.

Since then, they've had nearly a dozen owners, and each one has managed to keep the restaurant running.
Back in 2014, it was sold to Tammy Greer and Teresa Kellogg, who were best friends from high school. Two years ago, Tammy sold it to Teresa and her husband, Rollin, who plan to keep it in the family.
