MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – An elementary school teacher in Rutherford County spent some time behind bars for being drunk behind the wheel.
According to a report filed by the Murfreesboro Police Department, officers arrested 45-year-old James Faulkner after he crashed his vehicle at West Sevier and South Church Streets.
The report said Faulkner admitted to consuming five to six beers. There was also a cooler with beer cans in it in the vehicle. Officials said he failed a field sobriety test.
Faulker is a teacher at Christiana Elementary School.
He was charged with driving under the influence and for having an open container. He was taken into custody and booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. Officials said he was released on bond.
