HERMITAGE, Tenn. – Police have released the identity of the man killed in an early morning motorcycle crash in Hermitage.
Gary Eugene Brown, age 32, was killed after the getting thrown from his 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle while taking a sharp curve.
The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. Monday on Old Lebanon Dirt Road near Weber Road, just off Old Hickory Boulevard.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said Brown lost control at a bend in the road while driving at a high rate of speed. The curve was essentially a 90-degree turn.
The motorcycle went over the guardrail, thowing the man into a wooded area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Old Lebanon Dirt Road was closed while investigators processed the scene.
Investigators were working to determine exactly what happened. Toxicology tested was expected to be performed to determine if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
