Middle Tennessee Armed Robberies May Be Connected

An investigation got underway overnight after at least five armed robberies were reported across the Middle Tennessee area.

At least four suspects may be involved in a crime spree – possibly five incidents – spanning Davidson, Wilson and Rutherford counties.

The ordeal began overnight Thursday in Murfreesboro when a victim was carjacked at the Student Quarters Apartments on Hazelwood Drive, not far from the Middle Tennessee State University campus.

Four men in a black Chevrolet Cobalt approached the victim as he parked, pulled a gun and then stole his tan Toyota Avalon.

Police believe these same four suspects carjacked another person last week.

This case could also be connected to an armed robbery in Antioch. In that incident, four teens – also in a black Chevy Cobalt – were wearing Scream masks and carrying rifles when they robbed a man outside his home on Sunsail Drive, just off of Hobson Pike near Percy Priest Lake.

Just after midnight, Mt. Juliet police informed Metro Nashville police they were in pursuit of a vehicle that was crossing over into Davidson County. That dark Chevrolet Cobalt was later found abandoned at on Saturn Drive.

The investigation into all of these incidents remained ongoing.
