NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Public Schools is revising its phase-in schedule to bring students back into the classroom due to the winter storms.
Due to the hazardous road conditions, the district has decided to remain closed on Thursday and shift to virtual learning for all students on Friday. Before and after-care programs, as well as all after-school activities, are also canceled.
MNPS officials said if the district continued to close school after Thursday, it would result in extending the school year. The district will now rely on virtual school days for any other inclement weather events.
The adjusted phase-in schedule will be as follows:
- Fifth and ninth-grade students will return on Tuesday, February 23
- Sixth, seventh and eighth graders will return on Friday, February 26
- Tenth, 11th and 12th-grade students will return on Wednesday, March 3 as originally scheduled
