NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Public Schools wants to make sure kids are still learning even if they’re not in the classroom.
MNPS Director of Schools Dr. Adrienne Battle said the district can't require remote learning because of the lack of equity between students. Not everyone has the same resources across MNPS, like internet access or computers.
There are resources available for parents for online learning opportunities. MNPS launched a website to keep kids engaged from home.
Parents can also find apps that their kids use at school. The apps only require their MNPS login and password.
Limitless Libraries is offering free audiobooks and eBooks.
"We are asking families to find ways to engage in productive learning activities while staying healthy and active," Battle said.
