NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Thanks to MDHA, a Nashville man has finally received what he's hoped for, for decades – a talking thermostat.

Orlando, who is visually impaired, applied to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency for the new thermostat.

“It's remarkable, it's been a blessing, coming,” he said. “I've always wanted to have Central Air and Heat, but for about 40 something years, I mean, I just didn't live with air conditioner at all, I had single room air conditioning units.”

The new thermostat came at no cost to Orlando, who says, he no longer has to worry about friends or relatives, changing the temperature, without his knowledge.

If you're interested in the HVAC program, give MDHA a call at 615-252-8400.
