Firefighters in Hopkinsville, Kentucky have responded to a massive fire in a historic, downtown building.
The Peter Postell Building is located on the corner of East 6th Street and South Virginia Street.

The building was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived a little after 10 p.m., and the flames were so massive that firefighters could not enter the building.
They focused on keeping neighboring buildings from being affected.
Lightning in oncoming storms also kept crews from raising their ladders. The building was destroyed, and was vacant at the time.
No one was injured in the fire.
