NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Davidson County Sheriff's Office said mass testing will be conducted at a southeast Nashville correctional facility after 48 inmates recently tested positive for COVID-19.

On Monday, the sheriff's office reported only one positive case at the male Correctional Development Center on Harding Place. The sheriff's office said the additional positive cases were part of a group previously placed on restriction from possible exposure and have been in isolation since June 15.

Due to the spread at the facility, the Metro Public Health Department will now test all 502 inmates and about 100 staff members beginning Wednesday.
