NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after he was stabbed in the neck outside a bar on Broadway.

It happened around midnight Friday, after an argument.

According to Metro Police, a man was outside a bar at the corner of Broadway and 3rd Avenue South when he was stabbed in the face and neck.

The victim told officers, he and the suspect, who did not know each other, exchanged insults after the suspect made a comment about a woman who was with the victim.

Police say the suspect then walked to a white four-door Chevrolet Silverado near 2nd Avenue South and Broadway. He then returned to the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Broadway in the truck, got out of the passenger seat, and walked across Broadway to stab the victim. He got away in the truck.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
