MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police in Murfreesboro continue to investigate a deadly shooting at a condominium complex.
The incident happened just after 3 a.m. on August 2, 2019 at the Villager Condos on Middle Tennessee Boulevard. According to Murfreesboro police, officers responded after receiving a call from a neighbor who heard multiple gunshots and saw the victim lying on the sidewalk.
Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services began treating the victim on the scene.
The man, identified as 30-year-old Terrell Edward Ray, was transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The shooter stole the victim's vehicle at the scene. While the stolen vehicle has been recovered, the shooter remains on the run.
Ray was a dedicated member of the Greater Revelations Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville. On Sunday, dozens of his fellow church friends came out to Oakland's Park to celebrate his life.
"I stand here and I ask was it life worthy, was it worth you taking my baby's life," said Trina Jean Anderson, Ray's mom. "Taking someone's father...someone's son..someones brother...I just wonder was it really life worthy?"
