Man Caught On Camera Taking Package From Home

An Antioch couple caught an alleged thief on camera stealing packages from their doorstep.

The home security footage from the couple's home showed the crime from beginning to end.

"He had a bag in his hand. He came picked up packages, and he's on the camera right there," said Carllus Miller.

The suspect initially cruised up and down Dover Glen Drive in Antioch.

"Yeah, that's him. He looks like he's casing, looking," said Miller.

It's the first real look at an elusive fugitive - one who neighbors said have been stealing for weeks.

His preferred target has been anything delivered by mail.

"There's two packages there -- one big and one small one," said Miller.

After cruising the neighborhood looking for deliveries on doorsteps, the suspect stopped ran up to Miller's home, and makes off with both packages.

"He walked off with the packages. He didn't run. He walked off. I guess he didn't want to draw too much attention by running out looking like he belonged," said Miller.

The suspect got away, but the joke's on him - twice. First, he's caught on video and second he probably hoped he had made off with a delivery of expensive electronics. Instead, Miller's kids were out their school supplies.

Crime statistics indicate it's not often the items taken are recovered, but in this case because of the video the hope was that the suspect will be caught.

Miller did file a police report. He asked anyone who may recognize the man to call the Metro Nashville Police Department.
