Police usually respond to the scene of a crash to help drivers get back on their way, but a Wilson County man wound up in jail.

Officials with the Lebanon Police Department said an officer responded to 1500 West Main Street Thursday at 3:40 p.m. after a two-vehicle crash.

The officer noticed that one of the drivers, identified as 34-year-old Jaycen McGuire, was showing signs of impairment.

McGuire reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

After searching the vehicle, investigators found three plastic bags full of drugs and a digital scale. Around 14 ounces of marijuana was seized, along with several unidentified pills.

McGuire was charged with driving under the influence, drug and drug paraphernalia possession, and selling drugs.

He was booked into the Wilson County Jail. Information about bond was not available.
