A man has been arrested in connection with an overnight shooting at a Hermitage apartment complex.

The incident happened overnight Friday at the Cherry Creek Apartments on Crystal Springs Lane.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said Kyler Anderson has been charged with attempted criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, aggravated burglary, evading arrest and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police were originally responding to a burglary call after someone reported two men with guns outside their apartment.

According to an affidavit, Anderson and another man drove to the victim's apartment because Anderson believed the victim had beaten his girlfriend.

The other man involved told police that Anderson forced his way through the back door and pointed a gun at several people before a shot was fired.

The victim was rushed into surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Anderson and another man were later taken into custody on Interstate 65.
